Special Factors
Please do not use a Consideration of Special Factors Form to request an extension or to provide an explanation for the late submission of an assessment. If you wish to request an extension or explain the late submission of an assessment you are required to contact your module leader.
Your performance in examinations, course work or written assessments (including projects and dissertations) may be affected by poor health
or other personal demands. These are called Special Factors.
What is a Consideration of Special Factors form?
A Consideration of Special Factors
Form (CSFF) is the form provided when you need to tell the University about any circumstances that you feel have affected your academic performance and/or caused your absence from an assessment, i.e. coursework or exam. The University will only accept for consideration special factors notified by this means, e.g. it cannot accept notification by e-mail, discussion with members of staff, letter etc.
Do I have to submit one?
Yes, you must do so if you wish your circumstances to be taken into consideration.
Where do I get a form?
You can download the Consideration of Special Factors form (CSFF). Please note: the form cannot
be submitted electronically as it needs to be signed.
You can also collect paper copies of the form
itself from:
- Examinations
Office enquiry counter (M122A - on the first floor of the George
Moore Building)
- Your teaching division/School's admin office
- the base
