The Careers Service works in partnership with academic departments to develop students’ career management skills and prepare them for their future careers. Career planning seminars can be tailored to students on subjects such as CV’s and covering letters, job seeking strategies, application forms, graduate level practice testing sessions, the assessment centre process and final year action planning. Pre-placement preparation seminars on CV’s, interview techniques and finding work experience are also available.

We can also help with:

  • planning careers education information and guidance programmes
  • planning for departmental careers related events
  • provision of graduate labour market information
  • employer liaison
  • I want to arrange a group session for my students.
  • Statement of Service (PDF) - the Careers Service guide for current students.
  • Useful links for staff.
  • Find out about the graduate labour market
  • Report on Leaver Destinations 2008* (PDF) - a survey of EU nationals who, between 01 August 2007 and 31 July 2008, successfully completed a full time course of study which led to the award of a degree or diploma from Glasgow Caledonian University. The aim of this survey is to establish the employment status of the target population on two seperate census dates, 14 April 2008 and 12 January 2009.

*The named version of the 2008 First Destination Statistics for all programmes within your school has been released - copies have been sent to Deans and School Managers.
