AGCAS Award for Excellence - September 2009
The Careers Service at GCU won the AGCAS Innovation Award for 2009. The Award was won for our Forum theatre workshop, Employability Skills for International students. This unique interview skills event used role-play to develop the employability skills of 20 international students. It was conceived in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University Careers Service staff and facilitated and delivered by Forward Role. Four employers, all of whom are Glasgow Caledonian University alumni and successful in their own fields, also participated. Feedback from both employers and students was overwhelmingly positive. This was a successful example of collaborative working within our university, developed with support from the Alumni Office, the International Student Support Service, Caledonian Business School and the School of Engineering and Computing.

Matrix
Quality Award - March 2008
We are delighted to announce that Glasgow Caledonian University
Careers Service has once again achieved external quality accreditation, and
has been awarded The Matrix Quality Standard. This award was developed
by the Guidance Council for organisations that provide guidance,
advice and information.
We first achieved this award in November 2004, and were successfully re-accredited in March 2008 after another rigorous inspection of our services to students and graduates.
This is a major achievement for such a small team and reflects
the hard work of the Careers Service both in terms of preparing for
assessment and in undertaking the assessment itself. It is also
an indication of both the quality of the services we provide and our
commitment to continuing quality improvement.
