Background

The Scottish Nutrition and Diet Resources Initiative (SNDRí) was set up by dietitians in March 2001 an extension of the Scottish Diet Sheet Initiative. With funding from the Scottish Executive, it was part of their strategy to improve Scotland's health, published in the 1996 Scottish Diet Action Plan. With ongoing support from the Scottish Government, it has grown and now produces a portfolio of over 200 diet-sheets providing nutrition and diet resources throughout the UK.

How are SNDRí diet-sheets produced?

Our aim: is to produce a range of easily accessible resources on nutrition and diet.

All SNDRí diet-sheets follow a rigorous production cycle and are:

  • evidence-based
  • peer-reviewed
  • pre-tested with patients and clients
  • cost effective
  • widely available to dietitians and health professionals
  • free from commercial bias.

These diet-sheets aim to give consistent health messages and avoid duplication of effort by other health related
professionals.

As part of SNDRí’s ongoing aim to achieve best value for money, it has developed a paper that aims to describe the costs and benefits associated with producing quality centralised nutrition and diet resources. Click here for more information.
