Welcome to Vision Sciences
The Department of Vision Sciences is the only vision science teaching department in Scotland. As such, we play a key role within the research and learning portfolio of the school.
We are unique in offering undergraduate degree programmes in both BSc(Hons) Optometry and BSc Ophthalmic Dispensing. Both courses enable students to gain hands on clinical experience in our state-of-the-art Eye Clinic. We also teach a successful pre-registration optometrist evening course and a postgraduate programme in ocular therapeutics.
A thriving research culture exist in Vision Sciences with most staff heavily involved in vision research. The department has a large number of postgraduate students currently registered for PhD degrees.
