Radiography

Welcome to the Department of Radiography. The department is located in the purpose built Govan Mbeki Health Building which is part of the university's modern city centre campus. The department comprises both diagnostic and therapeutic disciplines and offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD radiography courses for students and professionals who wish to enter or specialise within the radiography profession.

A number of the postgraduate and CPD programmes are also appropriate for a wider range of professionals drawn from Medicine, Nursing and the Allied Health Professions, who wish to extend their knowledge and skills in the areas of medical ultrasound, image interpretation and oncology.

To support our programmes, the department has access to a range of modern classrooms and laboratories, as well as a self-contained X-ray facility and a radiation treatment planning laboratory.

Practical education

Clinical Placements for the undergraduate programmes are predominantly undertaken in specialist imaging and oncology departments in the major teaching hospitals across the West of Scotland.  The department has a wide range of international clinical networks which provide exciting opportunities for undergraduate students to take their elective placements in many different parts of the world. International opportunities for students and staff are continually being expanded through collaborative partnerships with other universities and agencies.
