Teaching
In the case of teaching, our “body of knowledge” is mapped into different undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes that are “employment led” corresponding to recognised professional career pathways and focussing on technical specialisms and skill sets that are particularly in demand. Current examples of such teaching programmes include: Actuarial Science, Advanced Computer Networking, Computer, Electronic and Telecommunications Systems Engineering, Embedded Systems Design, Mobile and Pervasive Computing, Network and Systems Support, Network Security, and Wireless Communication Technologies. Our teaching programmes continue to evolve in response to the dynamic nature of CNEE’s areas of interest.
We have developed close links with many of the organisations who set national and global technology and professional standards in our areas of interest: for example Cisco, EMC, e-skills, Freescale, Microsoft, Oracle, Prince, Red Hat, QNX, SAS, Sec-1, and Symbian. This allows us to offer teaching programmes that have a strong practical focus because they provide exposure to technology standards and, in many cases, coverage within the curriculum of the knowledge and skills associated with leading industrial certifications. This means that our graduates go into employment knowing that they not only have an excellent academic qualification but also a portfolio of relevant practical skills and knowledge that directly relate to industrial practice and professional industrial certifications (which you have the opportunity to obtain on campus). On top of this, our programmes are accredited by the IET and BCS who are the relevant professional bodies within the UK.
Our teaching and project laboratories are among the best in the higher education sector in our subject areas. They include specialist teaching and project labs for: computer systems security (ethical hacking); computer engineering; embedded systems; mobile computing; network engineering; network security; telecommunications engineering; and wireless communications.
All of this is backed by that most important ingredient: our experienced teaching team. Our programmes are all supported by academics who: are experts in their subject area, actively undertaking research and knowledge transfer projects; have significant real world experience; have achieved advanced professional standing.
We look forward to welcoming you in person and helping you share an exciting learning experience.
