The Scottish Centre for Work Based Learning offers the following resident expertise:

Vince heads up the team who are charged with supporting the growth of Work Based Learning and the Work Based Learning programmes through the Scottish Centre for Work Based Learning. Work Based Learning programmes are currently offered at postgraduate level, from postgraduate Certificate to Doctorate and undergraduate level from certificate to Honours level.

In addition Vince identifies and undertakes research, development and consultancy in relation Work Based and Lifelong Learning issues. Some of these are specifically related to Trade Union learning through the Trade Union Research Unit.

  • Design and delivery of innovative work based learning programmes including individual, organisation bespoke and University thematic programmes.
  • Programme Organiser for the Undergraduate Work Based Learning Contract programmes.
  • Module Leader for the core Personal and Professional Development modules in Undergraduate Work based Learning Contract programmes.
  • Module Leader for five of the Work Based Learning modules for the BA Applied Management Skills.
  • Co-ordinator and Admissions Officer for the Masters Learning Contract programmes.
  • Module Leader for the Negotiated Learning Module (M).
  • Module Leader for the compulsory Reflective Practice Learning Goals/Modules at Masters level.
  • Staff Development.
  • Employer liaison.
  • Module Leader for the Work Based Learning Project modules which can be utilised by any University programme at all levels in the qualifications framework to accredit CPD, work experience and/or work placement.
