Who We Are

The Scottish Centre for Work Based Learning designs and delivers a range of vocationally relevant, work based learning opportunities. The Centre integrates work based developments and initiatives across the University, and provides a consistent and coherent approach to new programme development in collaboration with staff in the University Schools.

GCU is recognised as a leading UK light in this innovative area of learning provision, offering access to both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Work Based Learning Contract Frameworks, for students across the World. The Scottish Centre for Work Based Learning is the premiere Centre of this kind in Scotland, and engages in a range of other service provisions including the running of the Trade Union Research Unit (TURU).

In addition the Centre regularly undertakes the provision of the following services:

• research into work based learning issues and lifelong learning
• the provision of staff development for work based learning
• the delivery of specific work based learning consultancy services
