Scottish Poverty Information Unit

The Scottish Poverty Information Unit (SPIU) is an established applied research unit based in the Glasgow School for Business and Society at Glasgow Caledonian University. Formed in 1995, it quickly attained a reputation as an authority on matters pertaining to poverty and social justice in Scotland.

SPIU contributes to the key debates on poverty and related issues in Scotland, and has a strong social mission and a sense of purpose that gravitates toward collaborative activity and developing sustained partnerships in academia, government and the Third Sector.
