Research Publication Digital Repository

The University has created a digital repository to host the outputs arising from its research activities. The purpose of the repository is to make available the fruits of publicly funded research at GCU to an external audience.

It brings together the output of the University’s research activity in one place and at the same time helps raise internal awareness of what we do in research.

The repository will give researchers worldwide access to our research output, which helps promote citation and will foster collaboration via the publication alert functionality of the system.

The system, known as ResearchOnline@GCU, is being developed by Academic Research Development and the Library on behalf of the University Research Committee and was  formally launched on 2nd February 2011.

In the coming months academic staff will be asked to submit details of their research publications that have appeared since RAE2008 for inclusion in the repository

The University research committee will use peer reviewed quality research publications deposited in the repository as part of the planning leading up to the submission to the UK Research Excellence Framework in 2014.

Make sure your publications are included

To be sure of consideration in the REF preparations, staff should ensure that their publications are submitted to the Library by contacting your librarian or email to repository@gcu.ac.uk.

Personalised staff pages

Staff may also set up a personalized “select works” page for their outputs including professional and other non-academic publications. See an example of a select works page on the research online pages.
