Who does the Positive Living Team support?

Any student registered on a course of study at GCU.  Students contact the Team for support for many different reasons.  However the most common issues are academic stress, anxiety, homesickness and culture shock; relationship issues, self confidence and low mood. 

What support does the Positive Living team provide? 

The team provides support in a number of ways; offering short-term individual counselling/therapeutic sessions; running workshops and therapeutic groups; holding wellbeing events and activities throughout the academic year and signposting students to self help materials.

How do I make an appointment?

To speak with a member of the team, you are encouraged to go to fill in the online form.  This is generally the quickest way to be given the next available intake appointment.

How long does it take to get an appointment?

We aim to offer an intake appointment within 5 working days but this varies according to student demand. 

What can I expect at the first appointment? 

At the intake appointment, you will meet with one of the team for approx 30mins to register with the service and discuss support options which may include counselling.
