Changing Times

Author: The Used Johnnys

Looks like we're getting
Into deeper water now
Does god like us watching TV
As our lives get blown to hell?

Well you lost my vote, you lost my heart
You took us to war and tore us apart
You set the stage to pull the strings
Changing times, the change it brings.

You always force the subject
And sing the same old song
You never tell me something
Except that things are wrong

Sometimes I see you calling
To the heavens up above
But all you're ever thinking of
Is best value love

Chorus:
Well you lost my vote, you lost my heart
You took us to war and tore us apart
You set the stage to pull the strings
Changing times, the change it brings>

Nothing's any better
In fact it's getting worse
And every word you've spoken
It turned out to be a curse

So it looks as if
I'm starting out anew
And one thing's for sure
I'll do it without you

Chorus

I'm tone deaf to your lies
I'm not beating 'round the bush
I've seen it in your eyes and
Now I'm giving you the push.

You've been in the engine room
Playing with the parts
If you stay we'll soon be dancing
Dancing in the dark

Chorus

"We wrote the words to this song in late September 2004 in response to the November 2004 US elections and the summer 2005 UK elections. We feel that it represents the deep mistrust we hold for our political leaders - and we wanted to add our voice to those who want to let our leaders know how we feel."
