A Patriot's Anthem
Dedicated to the G. W. Bush Administration
Author: Robert J. Ranney
Tune: Star Spangled Banner
Oh say can't you see through those stars in your eyes,
What so loudly you hail is our nation's undoing.
Whose Broad Stripes and Bright Stars do we see here tonight?
They should make us all proud, but instead we are booing.
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Give proof you don't care for the world we are screwing.
Oh, when will that Star Spangled Banner again wave,
Over more than just our greed and other nation's graves?
And the rocket's red glare, the
bombs bursting in air,
Give proof you don't care for the world we are screwing.
Oh, when will that Star Spangled Banner again wave,
Over more than just our greed and other nation's graves?

"A Patriot's Anthem could be considered a parody of The Star Spangled
Banner because it follows the tune exactly, but, as it was written by an
American patriot loathe to parody the national anthem, it is more
accurately a political statement of disgust for the policies of the Bush
administration. Those in sympathy with my views have compared it to
burning a flag in disgust."
