Enriching practice and learning
The benefits of delivering evidence based care within an enriched practice and learning environment, for patients, carers and practitioners, drives our research and knowledge transfer strategy.
Key Goals
- To lead and conduct internationally excellent research that informs the evidence base for practice and engage with and lead international research collaborations.
- To provide mechanisms to support School research groups and individuals to reach their full potential in terms of research and knowledge transfer capability and productivity.
- To establish a confident and inclusive research culture with a global reputation for the development of nurse and midwifery researchers and research leaders.
Research Priorities
Our priority is to undertake interdisciplinary research which has the potential to advance nursing and midwifery practice and contribute to health improvement within Scotland and internationally. This falls into three programmatic areas:
Improving Health and Well Being (across the life span and in later life)
Lead Researchers - Professor Hazel Watson & Dr Susan Kerr
Gerontological Practice (including long term conditions)
Lead Researcher - Dr Jayne Brown
Improving Practice (including evidence reviews, evidence utilisation, service design).
Lead Researcher - Dr Kay Currie
