Adult Nursing
The Department of Adult Nursing is one of the largest providers of undergraduate pre-registration education in Scotland. This includes an annual intake of up to 500 students from Adult, Mental Health, Child and Learning Disabilities Nursing, making us one of the few universities in Scotland to offer all four branches of Nursing.
Study opportunities
Our programmes offer students offer excellent employment prospects together with access to some of the best facilities available, the focus of which is the state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Laboratory. Here students can practice their clinical skills in the university prior to engaging with patients in a clinical setting. There are also opportunities available for inter-professional learning, both within Glasgow Caledonian University and in partnership with other universities.
Professional links
We have extensive links with healthcare providers throughout Scotland and we organise one of the largest number of clinical placements with these disciplines. For those wishing to gain insight into international perspectives in nursing, we are able to offer a variety of international placements through our links with the Florence network and the Erasmus exchange programme.
Lifelong learning
Modern healthcare professionals nowadays have to continue their studies throughout their careers and this is something we fully appreciate and cater for. In fact, we find that many of students often return for post-registration programmes, having enjoyed their initial experience so much.
