School of Nursing, Midwifery & Community Health

Now part of the School of Health

Established in August 2009 to support the collaborative education of nurses, midwives, social workers and allied health professionals and further develop the University’s world’s leading research, the new School of Health brings together the internationally respected School of Nursing, Midwifery and Community Health and School of Health and Social Care, making it one of Scotland’s largest providers of health care education.

Leaders in health education

Based at the heart of Glasgow Caledonian University's City Campus, we were one of the first universities in Scotland to offer community health and pre-registration nursing and midwifery education. Since then we have continued to forge ahead with innovative and flexible approaches to educating and preparing nurses, with study options for students at all stages in their professional development.

We are a world-renowned centre for nursing research, with links to a host of organisations across the globe, including the World Health Organization (WHO). We are currently designated as Scotland's only WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing and Midwifery Development.
