GCU London is based in one of the city’s most exciting, vibrant and cosmopolitan areas – Spitalfields.

You will be offered help from the day of your arrival on campus, to help you settle in and adjust to life in London, and throughout your studies.

Filled with bars, restaurants, museums, art galleries, shops, and theatres, Spitalfields is home to the highest concentration of artists in Europe, and is close to one the world’s financial capitals, the City of London.

Our campus is ideally located and is a short walk from four Tube stations, and major bus routes, connecting across London.

Arrival

On arrival, every student will be issued with a full GCU matriculation card. GCU has been rated best international student experience four times in a row, and our overseas student support was rated the best in the UK at the Times Higher Education Awards 2008.

Students will also have access to Nightline, a confidential listening and information phone service, GCU's campus radio station, Radio Caley, and student magazine, Re-Union.

Culture

London has a thriving cultural scene with more than 250 museums, including The British Museum, Natural History Museum, and Science Museum.

The city also boasts four World Heritage sites – Kew Gardens, Maritime Greenwich, the Palace of Westminster and the Tower of London.

Shopping

From international outlets on Oxford Street, Regent Street, and Bond Street, to weekend markets in Camden, Portobello Road, Brick Lane, and Greenwich, London offers a diverse range of shops, boutiques, and department stores.

Old Spitalfields Market, which is close to GCU London's campus, has been voted the best market in London for its unique mix of food, fashion, antiques, art, and fair trade products from around the world.

Westfield, in Shepherd’s Bush, is London's largest shopping mall with 270 stores and 50 food outlets.

Music

There are hundreds of live music venues across London, ranging from intimate pubs and clubs to the O2 Arena, in Greenwich, which regularly hosts international acts and spectacular live shows.

As Europe’s largest multi-arts centre, The Barbican offers art, world music, jazz and film screenings. Part of the South Bank complex, the Royal Festival Hall is the base for the London Philharmonic Orchestra, while South Kensington’s Royal Albert Hall hosts the Proms series of classical concerts.

Faith

London is a multicultural city and caters for many different faiths.

From churches, mosques, synagogues, temples and prayer centres, to all other types of religious venues, there is a wide range of places of worship close to GCU London.
