The College Articulation Project Mentoring Scheme
How to contact a Mentor
One of the great things about peer mentors is that they have experience of their programs, their departments, and the university in general. This means they can give an insight into classes, projects, coursework, exams and the social side of being a university student. Mentors are also experts in the student experience and know what it is like to deal with the uncertainty that can sometimes affect a new student. They are there to listen to concerns or issues and are able to offer informal advice, practical support, or just a friendly ear.
How to contact a mentor;
1. Send an e-mail to the mentors mailbase at mentors@gcal.ac.uk We can arrange for a mentor to meet with you or we can answer your queries by e-mail - just let us know what suits best!
2. Check your programme notice boards to see if there is a mentor available in your department. Mentors will have put up a poster that lets you who they are and how you can meet up with them.
3. You may notice mentors in and around the campus in places like the Saltire Centre or the Learning Café. They are often wearing a badge to let you know that they are mentors. Feel free to approach them with any queries you might have.
