Mentoring

Taking part in the GCU mentoring programme can provide students with an excellent opportunity to enhance their skills.

In addition to giving back to local communities, Student Mentors gain core and employability skills in the role, and increased engagement with their course and GCU.

Applications for summer 2023 have now closed. Applications will open again in September 2023.

If you have any queries, please contact our Mentoring team.

Are you interested in working as a Student Mentor?

Widening Participation (WP) and Outreach are looking for undergraduate students to work as student mentors on a variety of programmes such as:

  • Working with young people from local nursery, primary and secondary schools and their families
  • Working with senior pupils and college students considering higher education study
  • Supporting current GCU students on campus.

Student Mentors act as role models and GCU ambassadors, delivering a wide range of activities to increase the confidence, core skills and life-long learning aspirations of young people and help senior pupils and college students with the transition to GCU/higher education.
