Postgraduate
The School of Law and Social Sciences (LSS) offers a variety postgraduate programmes, aimed at those interested in research, history and law.
SAAS funded places are available on Social Research and the LLM (contact relevanat programme leaders for details). We also have a fully funded Wellcome Trust Scholarship for our Msc Health History course and you can contact Professor John Stewart for details.
All postgraduate programmes are offered on a full or part time basis:

Our new MSc History (Modern Scottish History) will be taught via distance learning. This innovative on-line History Masters programme is the first in Scotland to focus exclusively on the modern history of this country during a period of dynamic transformation and rediscovery.
Benefitting from the high quality research and teaching expertise of leading historians in this field, it offers the graduate an unrivalled opportunity to
develop an in-depth understanding of the modern history of Scotland from the Union of the Parliaments (1707) to devolution (1999), and to explore their own specific research interests, with the reassurance and support of a professional and dedicated supervisory team.
Start Dates and Application
Masters programmes can be studied on a part-time or full-time basis. Students should apply directly to the university for September* or February start dates. We accept applications up until a few weeks before the programme start.
*MSc History (Modern Scottish History) is September only from 2011/12.
