University Support Facilities

We offer students access to the university’s comprehensive network of support services and  facilities. You can read about more of these support services and facilities in The University section of this website.

Learner Support

Learner Support staff are available to answer enquiries from potential students. They offer advice, support and counselling on all aspects of student life, from finance and accommodation to sport and recreation for part-time students.

The Library

The Library (housed in our award winning Saltire Centre) is very important to part-time students. For many it is the most important resource in the university. Academic liaison librarians will help you find the books, journals and electronic services relevant to your programme.

Sports and Recreation

The university’s health and fitness centre, Arc, has excellent facilities and runs a range of popular fitness activities as well as offering advice and information on health & fitness.

There are three well-equipped multi-gym areas, two large halls suitable for all types of activity and the University's Sports Medicine centre. There is also an open area, designed for maximum flexibility, which can be used for a wide range of activities from Tai Chi and Yoga to exhibitions and seminars.

Nursery Facilities

The Beechwood Nursery provides care for children from 6 weeks to school age and is open from 8am - 6pm. It is located on the university campus. A childcare subsidy may be available to full-time students.
