Your matriculation (student) or staff card is also your library card. You can't borrow books without it. You can borrow items the day after you register. Use the self-service machines to borrow and return books, just follow the on-screen instructions, or watch our video below. They are on every level of the Saltire Centre. You should only swipe your matric card on the self-service machines when you want to borrow or renew books. To return books you should press the Return button.
Please remember - it's your responsibility to make sure you return or renew items on time.

These are for use in the library only:
In the library catalogue click on My account, then on Review my account. You will need your Personal Identification Number (PIN) to see your library record. We send your PIN to your university email address. It’s also on My Caledonian under My library details. You can change it from My account in the library catalogue.
Your library PIN (personal identification number) is listed on My Caledonian. Click the Me (Student) tab and then the My library details link.
If a book is on hold for someone else, you must return it by the due date or pay fines.

We hope this won’t happen and that you’ll help us make books available for as many people as possible by returning them on time. To support that, we have a fines system for overdue items.
