Dawsons short instructions
Dawsonera is a Web-based ebook selection service offered by Dawson, one of our major ebook suppliers. Dawsonera can be accessed by all GCU staff and students to get full-text access to ebooks owned by GCU Library and also to get a 5-minute preview of ebooks not owned by GCU Library.
To log in to Dawsonera, go to http://www.dawsonera.com/ and login to the Reader Portal using your Athens username and password.
Enter your search term(s) in the Quick Search box (at the top of the screen) and ensure that the Include not Owned books box is ticked when you get your search results.
Readers get a 5-min preview of non-owned ebooks, and a Suggest for Purchase option. The purple tabs indicate that the ebook is not owned by GCU and if the ebook is owned by us, there are 2 green tabs and you can read the full-text online.
You can use the Advanced Search if you wish to search by author, title or ISBN etc or add filters to your search such as ebooks published in 2010.
If you wish to access the ebooks owned by GCU Library you should click on the eBook Catalogue tab
