- Some of our subject guides list gateways like BUBL. These link to collections of web sites reviewed by experts so any site you find there will be of
good quality. However gateways won't list as many sites as a search engine like Google or Yahoo would, and they don't cover all subjects. You’ll also find other web sites in the subject guides.
- The Intute Virtual Training Suite gives help and information about internet resources. We may subscribe to some of the resources it says you have to pay for. Check the library catalogue and the A-Z of databases to find out.
- Search engines like Google now let you make your search more exact, as shown in the Google web search help page.
Remember that: - search engines won’t bring up all of the information that you can find in our databases, though Google Scholar lets you search for some scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, pre-prints, abstracts and technical reports.
- anyone can publish on the internet so evaluating web sites is very important - you need to ask who put up the site and why? When was it last updated?
