JSTOR is a high-quality, interdisciplinary archive of scholarship, which preserves over one thousand academic journals in both digital and print formats, and continues to expand access to scholarly works and other materials needed for research and teaching globally. You will need an Athens password. External members and mentors are not entitled to an Athens password.
Start either Google Chrome or Firefox. Don't use internet explorer as it has a fault which makes displaying full text articles very difficult. Go to the JSTOR home page by clicking the Databases item in the Search for menu, then click JSTOR. Type your Athens user ID and password and click Enter. Click Search on the brown toolbar and then select your preferred search mode - either Basic or Advanced.

| AND |
When you combine search terms with AND in a full-text search, your results contain everything in which both terms appear. Combining search terms makes your search results more precise. |
| OR |
Using OR between search terms allows to you find all items that contain either term. Using OR will search for items that contain either the word "cat", the word "dog", or both. |
| NOT |
Searches using NOT will only find items that do not contain the search term following it. To find all items with the word cat that do not contain the word dog, search for: cat NOT dog, cat -dog (Be sure to include a space before the dash, but not after) |
