The library is keen to support you in your research. One of the best things you can do is to make an individual appointment with your librarian at the start of your project. We will be pleased to help and advise you all the way through your research journey.
PILOT is a web based training programme to help you develop the skills you need to be a sucessful researcher. You will need to log in to GCU Learn to use this. This tutorial is still under construction, so if you have any comments, please contact Marion Kelt (m.kelt@gcu.ac.uk)
It is very important that you consider ethical approval as early as possible in your research. Here are some web sites which may be helpful.

We also have a guide to assessing research articles
You may need to apply for inter-library loans or use the EthOS service to get material that we don't have in stock at GCU. EthOS is a British Library site with free searching of more than 250,000 UK PhD theses. Some full text items available, but can be slow to download. Register or login to order an electronic version of a thesis. Contact your librarian if you have problems using this service.
