About the Library

The Library is in the Saltire Centre. The Director of Library Services is Debbi Boden. You can get information about our services in the links on the left. Please always consider other library users!

There are self-service machines for issuing and returning books and other material on every level.

  • Level 0. Group study. You can have small group discussions, read, use PCs, have hot food and drinks, use mobile phones, meet friends, and meet Careers and other advisers in the consulting rooms near the cafe. Ask questions at the Base.

  • Level 1. Group study. You can have small group discussions, read, use poster printers, have hot food and drinks, use mobile phones, and meet friends. You can book spaces on this level. Meet liibrarians, Effective Learning Service and other advisers for appointments and drop-ins in the Carnegie Suite.

  • Level 2. Quiet discussion - no mobile phones. You can read, study with a partner, use PCs and scanners, drink bottled water.

  • Level 3 and Level 4. Very quiet study - no mobile phones. You can read and study, use PCs and scanners, drink bottled water. Technology for visually-impaired students is on level 3.
