What about confidentiality?

The university and the LDC collects, processes, secures and discloses personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, which is designed to protect client confidentiality.

Does my tutor need to know that I have used the service?

Generally we would not have any contact with your tutor unless she or he refers you or advises you to come to see us. However we see the service as an extension of the help available from tutors and therefore there may be circumstances where it would be beneficial to your progress if we do talk to your tutor.

If you do not want us to contact your tutor then just tell us at the time and, of course, we will respect your wishes.
