How the LDC Works with Students
Tutors work with students in a variety of ways:
- Individual and group appointments for face-to-face help
- Online appointments for students unable to come into University
- Drop-in sessions for short 10-minute consultations
- Programme-specific tailored workshops developed in response to requests from academic members of staff
- Provide advice on language learning for speakers of English as a second language (EAP)
- On-line materials for help with a wide range of academic writing and reading, speaking and presentations and exam preparation.
The service is inclusive and we are committed to providing guidance that meets the specific learning and teaching needs of all students including disabled students and those with dyslexia. It is free and confidential.
