Good conclusions
- summarise the main points made in the text. This does not mean that you repeat the topic sentences - instead try to draw the material together.
- refers back to the question and explains what the text has contributed towards answering it. This does not mean that you repeat the question, either. Instead, point out which insights the essay has given you into the matter.
- point out new questions that have arisen from your discussion where appropriate and suggests what kind of further research could answer them.
