Planning Officer (HESA)

Glasgow Caledonian University is looking to appoint a Planning Officer to join the Policy and Planning Department.

The main purpose of this role is to prepare and analyse University data to provide reports for the Executive and Academic Schools and to support the statutory student data returns to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent), have the ability to demonstrate experience of planning/data analysis in an HE environment, a good understanding of the requirements of the SFC and, in particular, HESA, detailed knowledge and experience of working with student information systems as well as experience of specification and preparation of data reports. Further essential requirements for this role include advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience of database organisation, management and interrogation, excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff and management across the University. Strong problem-solving, numeracy, analytical and organisational skills as well as adherence to high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, and ability to effectively prioritise workload are all required for this role.
