We are seeking to appoint a Schools and Colleges Engagement and Transition Team Manager to lead the Schools and Colleges Engagement and Transition Team (SCETT). The team will work closely with the academic schools and with input from the central initiatives to ensure a strategic approach to transition support as part of the University’s induction model. The role holder will lead the Development Officer and Co-ordinator to develop and build on existing relationships with partner secondary schools. Evaluating and monitoring of the SCETT work and ensuring it is meeting it’s aim of encouraging greater participation in HE is the purpose of the role.
As the role holder will be leading the team, excellent project management skills, experience of managing budgets and the confidence to interact with individuals at all levels in different organisations are prerequisites. The role holder will require knowledge and experience of development and/or delivery of student transition support projects/models coupled with strong interpersonal skills. A thorough knowledge of current practices in widening participation and transition support alongside a good understanding of higher education is essential. An understanding of the relationships between HEIs, colleges and schools is essential, as is demonstrable leadership experience of staff/students, projects and resources.
