KTP Associate – Fearsomengine

Fearsomengine is an award winning product design consultancy specialising in the development of innovative consumer and industrial products.
The Company, along with its partner Glasgow Caledonian University, seeks an ambitious graduate to research and develop new methods for implementing environmental sustainability in product design, and to devise and implement innovation strategies for the commercialisation of new products, including evaluation techniques for new concepts and strategies for marketing.
The environmental aspect of the project will be wide-ranging and many areas must be addressed e.g. life cycle analysis, materials selection & software, social trends, carbon trading and other commercial drivers. A detailed understanding of IP management must also be gained. The project is a commercially driven one of business development and the successful candidate will be expected to approach the work with a business and marketing mindset while appreciating the design and development context. Successful implementation will lead to significant opportunities with the Company to build on the outcomes after project completion.
The project will be fully supported by expertise from the Centre for Creative Industries within the School of Engineering and Computing at Glasgow Caledonian University. This support includes an individual development plan, personal training, and support for a Higher level qualification where appropriate.
This 24-month post based at Fearsomengine in Glasgow is an exciting and challenging position which will provide an ambitious and committed candidate with valuable experience – only the most able graduates need apply.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in the business of design and innovation, will be a meticulous worker and will have an eye for commercial prospects. Excellent interpersonal skills will be necessary to interact effectively with appropriate government bodies, centres of excellence, client base, university staff and Company team.
