Scottish Centre for Evidence-Based Care of Older People
Advancing the health care of older people
The Scottish Centre for Evidence-Based Care of Older People helps the NHS and care home sector deliver better care by drawing on the best available evidence from around the world.
We are the first Joanna Briggs Institute Aged Care Collaborating Centre in Europe, and the second in the world, and our aim is to collaborate nationally and internationally in activities that promote and influence evidence-informed improvements to the care of older people.
What we do
Our interdisciplinary team is committed to creating opportunities for nurses, allied health and social care practitioners, older people and carers to work alongside academics to set the agenda and identify issues that matter most to them focussing on care provision.
Our work programme includes systematic reviews of the evidence, development of evidence-based toolkits, and activities designed to help health and social care professionals improve use of evidence in their practice.
If you are a practitioner or academic and you would like more information about the Centre, please contact Professor Debbie Tolson on +44(0)141 331 3463 or at D.Tolson@gcal.ac.uk
