MCITP: Enterprise Administrator
The MCITP: Enterprise Administrator credential validates the technician's ability to serve as an administrator over a huge deployment of Windows Server 2008 systems and accompanying workstations. An enterprise deployment is usually comprised of hundreds to thousands of workstations managed by many servers. In Microsoft's language, the enterprise administrator translates the goals of the organisation they work for into concrete, technology-based decisions,
designing long-term strategies to the problems of business continuity and scalability.
Currently, in order to earn your MCITP: Enterprise Administrator credential, you must pass a total of five exams:
• 83-640, TS: Configuring Windows Server 2008 Active Directory
• 70-642, TS: Configuring Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure
• 70-643, TS: Configuring Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure
Plus either...
• 70-620, TS: Configuring Microsoft Windows Vista Client
or
• 70-680, TS: Configuring Windows 7
and
• 70-647, Pro: Windows Server 2008, Enterprise Administrator
Additionally, those currently possessing their MCSE on Server 2003 may take the 70-649, Upgrading your MCSE on Server 2003 to Server 2008 exam in lieu of the 83-640, 70-642 and 70-643 exams.
Those with an MCSA on Server 2003 may take the 70-648, Upgrading your MCSA on Server 2003 to Server 2008 exam in lieu of the 83-640 and 70-642 exams. 70-643 is still a required component of the MCITP: Enterprise Administrator credential.
