The .NET Framework is an integral Windows component that supports building and running software applications and XML Web services. ASP .NET can be used to create anything from small, personal websites through to large, enterprise-class web applications, while ADO .NET allows .NET applications to work with data and data services.
The Scottish Technology Industry Survey 2009 identified ASP .NET and the C# programming language among the “Top 5 Skills for 2009”.
Our programme of Microsoft courses is designed to prepare you to attain Microsoft certification in a key set of technologies which support the next generation of web applications. When you earn a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification, you validate your in-depth technical knowledge and skill in using the features and functionality of key technology areas in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 to design software applications.
The .NET Developer courses include:
Relevant Certification Exams
The “Foundations” courses provide preparation for the .NET foundation exam 70-536. Passing this exam gives you Microsoft Certified Professional status. Although the foundation exam is no longer a requirement for the new generation of MCTS certifications, it remains a valuable credential which demonstrates your essential .NET skills.
To achieve a MCTS certification you need to pass a single exam in your chosen specialist area. Each of the “Visual Studio 2010” courses above provide preparation for a MCTS certification related to its specialist content. For example, course 10264 provides preparation for the MCTS exam 70-515 (TS:Web Applications Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4).
