This programme builds upon the level of networking knowledge typical of undergraduate students by dealing with complex networks, protocols, tools and devices.
This MSc will provide students with a core set of skills in implementing, operating, configuring and troubleshooting a converged IP network.
The programme focuses on advanced routing and switching concepts, call processing in an IP environment, Quality of Service(QoS), gateways and gatekeepers, IP phones and voice and video applications.
An important benefit of the proposed programme is that it is aligned to and embeds the Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) and Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP) certification, an industry standard qualification for voice professionals. This relationship allows students not only to achieve an academic qualification through university assessment; students will be prepared for the associated professional certification exams.
Students completing the VoIP & UC MSc will be able to apply for jobs in a global market as the programme is designed around global technology industry standards and market leader hardware. Over the past few years this market has demonstrated itself as being the fastest growing area in the networking industry and will demand seasoned professionals with the skills to deploy unified communication solutions.
