Voice Over IP
Voice over IP within the enterprise is experiencing unprecedented growth and there is a need for network administrators with the relevant skill set to integrate VoIP. This course provides an in depth, theoretical and hands on introduction to integrating VoIP into the enterprise network. The course reflects the learning objectives found in the Cisco CVOICE Version 6.0 course which is the first course in the CCVP track. The VoIP course covers the following concepts:
- Introduction to Voice over IP
- VoIP Design Elements
- Routing Calls over Analog Voice Ports
- Performing Call Signalling Over Digital Voice Ports
- Examining VoIP Gateways and Gateway Control Protocols
- Dial Plan Characteristics
- How to Configure an Advanced Dial Plan
- How to Configure a H.323 Gatekeeper
- Establishment of a Connection with an Internet Service Provider
A valid CCNA certificate is a pre-requisite for this course.
The above course is part of the Schools new Voice over IP and Unified Communication MSc programme to be launched in September 2010. This course can be taken to gain future academic credit towards the new MSc programme.
