GCU has established an exciting new Parenting and Family Research Programme. This innovative research programme is centred on Triple P-Positive Parenting, a unique, multi-level system of parenting intervention. The research programme is concerned with the effects of parenting interventions designed to promote health and well being and to reduce serious behavioural, emotional and health related problems in children and young people.
The system was developed by Professor Matt Sanders and colleagues from the Parenting and Family Support Centre in the School of Psychology at The University of Queensland. Triple P is one of the only evidence-based parenting programs available worldwide, founded on over 30 years of clinical and empirical research. The partnership between GCU and NHSGGC is the latest addition to the global network of Triple P practitioners and research groups.
This project started in April 2010 and is funded by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Children & Young People's Specialist Services (£393,139).
