Lisa is a Research Fellow in Public Health based within the School of Health and affiliated to the new Institute of Applied Health Research. A registered general nurse, she graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2001 with a Bachelor of Nursing (Hons), and has previous clinical experience within acute surgical and cancer care settings.
After gaining research experience at the University of Glasgow, she held a full time research post at the Cancer Care Research Centre, University of Stirling, where she completed her PhD in 2007. Her thesis was entitled ‘An exploration of patients’ perceived control, self efficacy and involvement in self care during chemotherapy treatment for colorectal cancer.’
Lisa was appointed Research Fellow in Public Health, School of Health/Institute for Applied Health Research in 2009.
