Smoking Ban Legislation
From 6am on
26 March 2006, the Smoking Health and Social Care (Scotland) Act
2005 came into force, which introduced a ban on smoking in public
places. Smoking is no longer allowed in the majority of enclosed
public places, including workplaces, to protect people from the
harmful effects of passive smoking.

European Week for Safety and Health
In October 2005, the Glasgow Caledonian University Health and Safety
Dept organised and participated in, the staging of an exhibition in support of the Health
and Safety Executive's
European Week for Safety and
Health promotional campaign. The theme chosen
for this year's campaign was Noise in the workplace.
The exhibition included, videos, promotional materials, University
Health and Safety Policy and The European Agency for Safety and Health
at Work fact sheets.
