The shortlist for the first Glasgow School for Business and Society award for best performing business of 25 employees or over has been announced.
Barr & Wray, spa and pool engineers, have made it to the final four, along with Barrhead Travel, Fleet Alliance and Itison.
The winner will be announced at the Glasgow Business Awards 2012 ceremony, which is organised by the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, of which GCU’s Glasgow School for Business and Society is a member.
Taking place in the Thistle Hotel on October 4, the annual awards ceremony and dinner is firmly established as the highlight of the Glasgow business calendar. It attracts high profile industry involvement and offers Glasgow businesses the opportunity to promote major achievements and celebrate success.
Professor John Wilson, Executive Dean and Pro Vice-Chancellor, Glasgow School for Business and Society, said: “Glasgow School for Business and Society is delighted to sponsor the Glasgow Business Award for Best Performing Business, and pleased to see the wide range of companies who have succeeded in being shortlisted.
“Businesses continue to operate in one of the most difficult economic climates for decades, demanding a determined, entrepreneurial and innovative response. Those that have not only survived but also prospered deserve full recognition and we are delighted to play our part in recognising their success.”
Stuart Patrick, chief executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: “These awards recognise the enthusiasm and drive of businesses in the west of Scotland.
“Finalists have shown their determination remains undiminished, despite a challenging economic backdrop, further reinforcing the vibrancy of the businesses within the city.”
