Guest Tickets

Only students who have registered to graduate, paid the registration fee and have a confirmed academic award will be sent invitation letters and guest tickets.  Invitation letters and guest tickets will be posted to home addresses approximately one week before the ceremonies.

If you have an overseas address, you can pick up the letter and tickets from your school office.

The process

  • You request your tickets when you fill in your graduation registration form.
  • Each graduating students is allocated two guest tickets.
  • If there are spare guest tickets after we have allocated each student two tickets, we will hold a ballot to allocate all the available spare tickets.
  • You can request these by ticking the ballot box for either 1 extra or 2 extra.  This means the maximum any student can request is a total of 4 guest tickets ie  2 + 2
  • Your own ticket is marked "graduand ticket" and is separate from your guest ticket allocation.
  • Please note – we cannot guarantee everyone will get all the extra guest tickets they request.
  • The cost of all tickets is included in the £40 graduation registration fee.
  • Your guest tickets, graduand ticket and invitation letter should arrive by post about one week before the ceremony.
  • If your address is overseas you can pick up your invitation and tickets from your School Office when you arrive in Glasgow for the ceremony.  Graduation staff can fax a copy of your invitation letter to you if you request us to do so.
  • Guest tickets are booked in your name and cannot be used by anyone else.
  • Please note, if not using the University’s crèche facilities, all children must have a ticket no matter how young they are.

What if my invitation and guest tickets don’t arrive by post?

Guest tickets are booked in your name. You can get duplicate guest tickets by taking your invitation letter to the box office in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall only on the day of your ceremony. You can ask Graduation staff to fax a copy of your invitation letter.
