What does it cost to graduate?
There is a fee of £40 whether you attend the ceremony or graduate “in absentia”.
When do I pay the fee?
When you register.
How do I pay the graduation fee?
- PAY ONLINE using the Web. Log onto My Caledonian and Click on link ‘PAY FOR GRADUATION’ under the Easypay tab.
- Cheques - payable to Glasgow Caledonian University.
Do I pay for my guest tickets?
No. The fee includes the cost of all guest tickets.
Does the graduation fee cover the cost of gown hire and photography?
No.
Can I get a refund of the graduation fee?
Yes. If you do not graduate this year, you can write to us to ask for a refund. Otherwise we will keep the fee until you complete another graduation registration form.
What if I register to graduate but don’t pay the graduation fee?
If you register to graduate in person and have an academic award, but don’t pay the graduation registration fee, we will graduate you in absentia and include your name and award in the graduation lists. You will not receive an invitation letter and guest tickets and your parchment will be withheld until the fee is paid.
Can I register to graduate if I have University debts?
Yes. You should still register to graduate, pay the registration fee even though you have outstanding debts to the University, (library fines, tuition fees, accommodation fees etc).
Can I graduate if I have University debts?
If you have outstanding debts to the University by mid-May for June ceremonies and at 30 September for November ceremonies you will not be permitted to graduate.
Students who are in debt to the University will be notified in writing by the Finance Office.
