About GOPiP
GOPiP was developed by Glasgow Caledonian University in 2002. Primarily we support overseas nurses seeking refuge and those coming to work in Scotland, through the adaptation of their knowledge and skills in order to fill vacancies in the Scottish NHS.
The project had two main aims:
- To support nurses and other health professionals seeking refuge in Scotland, to regain their professional status and to find NHS employment.
- To deliver the Overseas Nurses Programme (ONP ) and provide the academic and clinical support that international qualified nurses need in order to work within the NHS.
The GOPiP project received funding from NHS Education Scotland, The Queens Nursing Institute for Scotland and the Scottish Executive
