Give As You Earn

Give As You Earn –
Give more to the causes you care about

GCU is part of the Give as You Earn payroll giving scheme, an easy, tax-efficient way for staff to give to charity meaning it costs less to give more to the causes you are passionate about.  Easy to opt in and out of, you have full control of your giving whilst providing your chosen charity(s) with regular, reliable donations that allow them to plan ahead for the future

Through the scheme any donation you make to a charity is deducted from your pay before tax.  The table below provides an example based on a £20 donation.

  Your Donation Amount deducted
from your salary
Amount charity
receives
20% taxpayer £20 £16 £20
40% taxpayer £20 £12 £20
45% taxpayer £20 £11 £20

All donations to the Glasgow Caledonian University Foundation will go to our Common Good Fund to provide vital support to our students who need it most.  As an unrestricted gift this means we can continue to ensure your donation is directed to where the need is greatest at that time.

You can apply to the Give As You Earn scheme here.  Simply write Glasgow Caledonian University Foundation within the charity name box and please be aware you will need your National Insurance Number and Employee Number.  Alternatively you can contact the Foundation Team via foundation@gcu.ac.uk to find out more.

Please note that if you choose to remain anonymous when signing up to GAYE we will be unable to thank you, update you on how your support is benefitting students at GCU or invite you to attend any future events.
