Planned & Current Procurements
Due to the high spend potential for University contracts, we normally only award agreements for significant procurement exercises by tendering under EC regulations. This involves a process where we advertise upcoming agreements in the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) and then evaluate the responses under strict guidelines with a Tendering Team made up of University representatives specialising in the product, service or commodity area.
In all cases companies must be capable of high standards of quality and service, as well as a commitment to competitive pricing. Thus the tendering process can take at least 3 months or more. To find tender notices the Supplement to the Official Journal offers a search function free of charge.
Current procurement opportunities are available for download from Public Contracts Scotland where you will find opportunities advertised by public sector organisations in Scotland. Documents are available from the website following a brief self-registration process.
A Buyer Profile for the University is also available from Public Contracts Scotland. This gives access to procurement opportunities, planned procurements, contracts awarded and current tender documentation.
The University also has access to the following:
• national Higher Education contracts,
• contracts established for the Scottish HE/FE sectors by APUC Ltd (Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges),
• Scottish Public Sector contracts advertised by Procurement Scotland,
• OGC Contracts and
• contracts put in place by other public sector organisations on behalf of all areas of the public sector.
Terms and Conditions of Contract used by Glasgow Caledonian University in standard tender documents are also available.
