Private Sector Accommodation
Many students prefer to make their own arrangements if they're moving away from home to study at GCU, especially if you're a mature student or have a family. If we can't accommodate your needs at Caledonian Court, we can provide advice
and information on independent living so that you can find a place of your own.
The Private Accommodation Database (PAD) is a shared centralised
database of private sector accommodation available to registered students of
the six major Higher Education Institutions in Glasgow.
Accommodation listed on PAD has been confirmed by the landlord as meeting standards and regulations set by Glasgow City Council and recommendations of the PAD group. The accommodation
is not inspected and Glasgow Caledonian University cannot
accept responsibility if accommodation registered with PAD is found
to be deficient in any respect. Further advice and information is available on request.
A paper copy of this list is available for review
at the Accommodation Office.
If you have any questions about private sector accommodation
- leases, your rights and responsibilities, the rights and responsibilities
of landlords as well as any safety issue, (fire, gas,
electrical or personal), you are welcome to contact us at the Accommodation
Office at Caledonian Court. We can offer advice and a range of literature to help you negotiate a satisfactory outcome and avoid the disappointment of signing up for a raw deal.
