Caledonian Court - Student Accommodation in Glasgow

The Accommodation
These modern purpose built, self contained flats are virtually
on campus in the city centre, with every amenity on the doorstep.
All flats are certified HMOs (Houses for Multiple Occupation) in compliance with Glasgow City Council regulations. The first phase of Caledonian Court opened in September 1995, providing accommodation for 320 students. In September 2000 the second phase was built to a higher specification, with all 341 rooms having private en-suite facilities.
Between 5 and 8 students occupy single study bedrooms (and a small number of twin rooms),
sharing a kitchen with basic equipment for self catering while you're living away from home. Some
flats are specially equipped and adapted for students with disabilities. Rent is based on the full academic session at the equivalent of approximately £83-£96 per week for
session 2010-2011, including heating, electricity and internet connection.
There is a laundrette with washing and drying facilities (pay as you
go) in the administration block, beside the Accommodation Office at the heart of Caledonian Court. The office is open Monday to Friday 9.00 - 5.00.
Security staff and CCTV systems operate 24/7 at Caledonian Court.
Green Tourism at Caledonian Court
Caledonian Court Halls of Residency has been awarded Gold by the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS). The Green Tourism Business Scheme is the national sustainable tourism certification scheme for the UK. Originally developed in partnership with Visit Scotland, it is now the only certification scheme validated by Visit Britain, through the International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT).
“GTBS provides excellent value for money to a wide range of tourism firms with first class environmental advice and auditing. Satisfaction rates of certified firms are very high and drop out rates low, both for the smallest of tourism firms and increasingly at corporate level.”
Xavier Font, ICRT.
Businesses opting to join Green Tourism are assessed by a qualified grading advisor against a rigorous set of criteria, covering a range of areas, like energy and water efficiency, waste management, biodiversity and more. Those businesses that meet the required standard, receive a Bronze, Silver, or Gold award based on their level of achievement.
The current network of members is comprised of a wide range of business types, including accommodation providers, visitor attractions, corporate offices and others.
